Director of Music Ministry in Lake Placid, FL - Florida

Mission: To provide, coordinate and develop gifts and talents for FPC music ministry.
To promote music offerings throughout the church and community for worship and outreach.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or higher in music, preferably Sacred Music, with experience in a similar environment.
Proficiency in organ and piano.
Knowledge and proficiency in hand bell performance.
Skill in conducting vocal and instrumental ensembles.
Knowledge and proficiency in audio/visual systems management and maintenance.
Ability to involve, encourage, and develop staff and members through the various musical opportunities of the ministry.

Responsibilities include:

-- Maintain an open, joyous and infectious heart for worship that glorifies Jesus Christ.

-- Be a part of a team, attending weekly staff meetings, as well as church conferences, worship committee and ministry planning meetings, as required.

-- Play organ/piano for worship.

-- Direct and lead the adult choir (Worship Singers).

-- Select hymns, anthems, responses, and special music and make recommendations to pastor.

-- Communicate details of music for weekly worship and special programs for the bulletin and monthly newsletter.

-- Direct and lead the hand bell choirs' ministry.

-- Direct & lead the children's chime/choral choir ministry.

-- Direct & lead orchestra in preparation for participation at Sunday worship (usually monthly) & special events.

-- Select music for seasonal services, cantatas (i.e. Christmas, Lent/Easter) along with pastor and/or worship committee.

-- Provide music for special services, weddings and funerals of the church when needed.

-- Coordinate with Praise Team Leader about worship schedule, space and special services.

-- Coordinate with the Praise Team Leader the oversight of music and sound equipment: inventory, purchases, storage and clean-up.

-- Prepare and submit annual budget requests including music, instrument tuning and repairs.
