Job Description:
The High Sierra Fellowship (HSF) Associate Pastor has the general responsibility of assisting in equipping and strengthening the congregation to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is called by our Lord to minister before God in order that the body may glorify God in all areas of their lives. He is also called to lead by example in his personal walk with God as found in Holy Scripture. The Associate Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor and the HSF Overseeing Elder Board with input from the Caring Elder Board.
The Associate Pastor will primarily be involved in nurturing our Life Group ministry in an effort to grow the spiritual health of the church body through home/small groups. The Associate Pastor will also fill in for the Senior Pastor when needed, as well as facilitate counseling and visitation.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Must have the ability to perform all duties of the Senior Pastor for extended periods of time when required
-Study and teach based on God's inerrant Word, employing an expository teaching method when required
-Responsible for Life Group ministry, including website, study materials, coordination of groups, and lay-leader assistance
-Minister collaboratively with staff, church body, and boards as required in accomplishing God's work, includes consistent prayer life and prayer meetings with groups when required
-Agree with and support the church's Mission and Vision Statements (see the HSF website)
-Provide counseling for congregants within the boundaries of the HSF Policies and Procedures
-Encourage, exhort, and equip the HSF staff in regard to their duties
-Attend regular staff and congregational meetings as required
-Administer dedications, baptisms, weddings, memorials/funerals, and the Lord's Supper as required
-Participate in HSF retreats and local area meetings as required
-Assist with visitation for the sick, homebound, or hospitalized
Education/Experience:
-Education preferred is minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a ministry-related field from a reputable Bible college or seminary
-Experience serving a church congregation in a pastoral position
-Experience working in a church office environment, weekly gatherings, and board meetings
-Experience with visitations, weddings, funerals, baptisms, and administering communion
-Possess a valid driver's license
Personal Qualifications:
-Demonstrate a born again, active Christian walk and the Biblical requirements for pastoral ministry (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9)
-Ordained as a minister by a body of believers or institution approved by HSF
-Complete agreement with the current HSF Statement of Faith, By-Laws, and Policies and
Procedures
-Demonstrate the ability to disciple others in biblical faith
-Possess the education, gifting, and skills to teach and lead a congregation in glorifying God, serving Jesus Christ, and living in the Spirit
Salary and Benefits:
-Salary range: $74,000 to $92,000 annually depending on education and experience
-Medical, retirement, and life insurance benefits provided
-Funding available for advanced degree study and educational/ministerial conferences
