Job Description:
MISSION STATMENT: To draw children and youth to Christ and the Congregation inspiring a life of salvation, faith, and service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To administer children and youth programs that focuses on developing and growing the relationship children and youth have with Christ Jesus. Duties include the oversight of all instruction and activities for all youth PreK though grade 12.
YOUTH MINISTRY RESPONSIBLITIES:
* Build Christ-centered relationships with children, youth, and families to grow and mentor their faith journeys.
* Lead the children and youth programs within St. Paul Church.
* Involve, train, and empower parents of St. Paul students.
* Encourage, equip, and empower St. Paul volunteers' teams who are part of the children & youth programs.
* Support the Clyde Community Youth Group (CCYG) ministry team in executing the community youth program. CCYG is a team driven effort.
* Assist the Pastor with Catechism, acolyte training, and first communion classes.
* Help students get connected with serving teams at St. Paul (usher, tech, band, greeting, etc.)
* Offer youth programming that focuses on discipleship, serving, and fellowship, (missions, community service, retreats, small groups, Bible studies).
* Attend meetings as required (staff and Parish Ed & Youth Board).
* Help plan and execute the community Vacation Bible School program.
* Attend community activities that support St. Paul and CCYG students.
* Work in partnership with the Pastor and Worship Leader to support the worship services.
* Help St. Paul keep a family focused mindset.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

* Serve as a positive role model for Christian living and service.
* Be an active and visible presence within the church as well as in the community.
* Be an active follower of Christ.
* Demonstrate an ability to portray professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
* Show evidence of a Christian character practiced by a life of prayer, spiritual discipline, giving, and participation in the life of the church.
* Demonstrate a passion for working with children, youth, and families and a willingness to work variable hours based on program needs.

About St. Paul Lutheran Church:
St. Paul Lutheran Church (NALC/LCMC) is a growing congregation looking for an experienced leader to build into our youth ministry. The Director of Youth Ministry is a full time position responsible for leading, administrating, and developing volunteers for both Sunday morning Christian Education for grades preK-12th grad and Sunday evening MS/HS youth ministry that reaches out not only to the St. Paul Lutheran youth but also to youth from area churches. This is a unique ministry that reaches our own youth and community youth, and it work for our area! The Director is expected to have gifts in administration, faith nurture, relational ministry, social media skills, and strong recruiting and training of volunteers in order to continue to develop this ministry as we grow disciples of Jesus Christ.
Job Qualifications:
* Have the desire and ability to work with and relate to all youth.
* Be a team player who works well with other members of the church staff and who has proven effectiveness in working with volunteers.
* Demonstrates organizational skills for the effective administration of the responsibilities of the position.
* Possesses excitement and commitment to the vision and mission of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
* Bachelor's degree or previous experience is desired.
* Possess knowledge of scripture and Lutheran doctrine.
* Have a clear background check & posses a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google, etc.
* Preferred: Have an active membership at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
* Be a team player who works well with other members of the church staff and who has proven effectiveness in working with volunteers.
