Working together and reporting to the Guiding Team, the Lead Pastor:
Primarily
* Oversees and leads the preaching and teaching ministries of the church (Preacher/Teacher)
- Ensures solid biblical teaching.
- Effectively_noemailmunicates the Christian faith and lifestyle to people of diverse backgrounds and maturity
- Ably addresses issues in society, the_noemailmunity, and the church with practical, relevant biblical input
* Stays in touch with spiritual and personal needs of the flock (Shepherd/Counsellor)
- Makes an effort to know people and care for them lovingly and appropriately
- Is available for meetings and counselling sessions as needed with individuals, couples, families (using office hours when possible and after hours when reasonable)
- Our pastor needs to be a shepherd as well as a leader to offer soul-care to the people, not just direction for the_noemailanization.
* Trains and develops leaders for effective ministry (Equipper)
- Disciples and mentors key leaders
- Identifies new leaders and develops them through intentional training
- Provides pathways for emerging leaders to engage in leadership and ministry in the church
- Encourages and empowers others to grow in their gifts and callings
Secondarily
* Collaborates with the Leadership Team in implementing the vision, mission, core values, and strategic plan for the church (Planner/implementer)
- Contributes to review and development of vision
- Coordinates strategic planning to implement vision
- Establishes and_noemailmunicates ministry priorities
* Oversees and leads the staff, volunteers, and ministry leader teams (Team Leader/Team Player)
- Leads staff meetings and maintains healthy staff working environment
- Appoints, mentors, supervises, and reviews staff
- Delegates authority and ministry responsibilities to staff
* Oversees the pastoral ministries of the church (Pastoral Care Coordinator)
- Shapes the pastoral ministry of the church regarding weddings, funerals, special seasons, outreach events, etc.
- Supports pastoral ministries to key church groups including children, youth, and interest groups
- Leads in responding to specific pastoral situations including conflict resolution, disciplinary - - processes, and critical pastoral incidents
* Provides a supportive environment for significant relationships and partnerships with the local_noemailmunity, city, and denominational/missional_noemailworks (Networker)
- Ensures a church presence, support, and/or a voice in times of need or challenge within the_noemailmunity
- Arranges for church representation at important public_noemailmunity events and functions
- Develops positive public relationships with possible rental groups,_noemailmunity groups, leaders, and_noemailanizations
- Participates in_noemailworks with other leaders for mutual equipping and support as available
- Personally contributes, and enables the church to contribute, to broader kingdom and mission-oriented activities, outreaches, and causes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master's Degree preferred from an accredited Bible school and seminary with course work that focused on preparation for full-time ministry and/or pastorate
At least five years' experience in a pastoral position. Lead pastor role experience preferred
Willing to pursue credentialing with Alberta Mennonite Brethren Conference
